'Turn... straight!' - Leah

Note to self: don't ever spill orange juice over your beautiful ergonometric keyboard again. Typing on a 'normal' keyboard after that is HELL ie impossible. Ugh.

there is an australian independent film called 'love and other catastrophes' [sometimes simply titled 'love' or 'other catastrophes'] that is a particular favourite of mine. if you're able to obtain a copy, i highly recommend it. it's been an... inspiration of sorts to me for years, almost a basis for a faction of my life.

it revolves around relationships, like any decent indie movie [ha!], and in particular a girl named alice who has an ideal boy in mind that she never seems to find. she has composed a list of what she wants in said boy, but she realizes that she'll never really find him. yet she still holds out, with a smidge of hope. in the meantime, she allows herself to deal with assholes that are nothing like what she wants, but that give her something to occupy her mind [and body] with while she continues her search. the big cliched indie-ending is [ta da] she *does* find her boy.... completely by accident. he fulfills her list, right down to the fact that he's left-handed.

this is not to say i've changed my mind and have composed a list and am set out in finding it. no, simply that i think my imaginary list has come together in one person. and this is frightening. i didn't even know i had a 'list' in my heart until now.

he's sick as often as i am...

on a side note, i can't praise rob mclennan enough at the moment... praise isn't even the right word. i think i'm still completely floored by his actions... in a completely happy satisfying way, of course.

i heart random e.mails from people... but especially from intriguing people... mind you, everyone is intriguing in their own fashion...
