'Lay back & I'll kiss your throat
While you talk on the phone...' - Ronnie Hawkins

How do you exxxplain a night of rock n rollin... without any actual rock n roll show? Simpleeeeee... it's all about the rock n roll MOVIES. and BOOKS. Geeky? Sorta, but just waitttttt for it...

So, the most lovely Dave Bidini [you know, guitarist for Rheostatics and artiste extraordinaire!] was doing a beautiful book reading for his new book, The Tropic of Hockey tonite. How is that rock n roll? Well, goddamnit, that man writes like a fucking genius. And he's funnier than a fucking postie in person. And what made it even MORE rock... was THE Peter von Althen [drummer for Starling, ex-drummer for Skydiggers] was there. Wooooooo rock is right, kiddos!

Wait, I didn't tell you kittens the fucked-up fashion in which we FOUND the place where the book reading was taking place...

See, we hopped onto 'Wellington St', where the store is apparently located, and started driving. Then, all of sudden, we're hitting the bridge into Hull [across the border, basically] and flipping out about spending another night in Hull. It was funny at first, then it just got scary. There were no lights on the road and we had NO CLUE where we were... whatsoever. Finally we hit an intersection and turned up it... and then just by chance, I was like 'well, turn here. it should get us back'. So we turn, and we're kinda driving aimlessly and I look at the street sign [we still didn't know where we were; the street looked like kingston road in toronto, actually] and it said... wellington st. we had found the road we were supposed to be on... and it wasn't at ALL the same wellington I thought. That doesn't really make sense, does it? But we found the place in the end... Yay!

Anyway... that wasn't the end of the rock... oh no! We jetted to the movie store to rent 2 of the best rock movies there are... High Fidelity and the ever-grand Rock n Roll Highschool. You think I'm joking? Go rent these kiddos, and be amazed at the superiority. The wonder of the Ramones is just... too much. hahaha I love it.

What a rock n roll night[mare]. Yummy.
